Theft By Finding | Original Artwork

700,93

What started harmlessly as a result of human prospecting in the ‘gold rush’ of the 1970s in Texas, now ultimately culminates in the human thirst for precious metals in mines that are kilometers deep (e.g. in Aikhal in Russia). This is desastrous for flora and fauna, but also entire human villages have to go way. The consequence is erosion, deforestation and the destruction of ecosystems. ‘Theft by Finding’ is part of the ‘Rate Of Loss’ series, which explores various human-induced environmental disasters both visually and thematically.
