Thinking In Cursive | Original Artwork

‘Thinking In Cursive’ is one of my latest abstract works which is inspired by the discovery of English chemist S. Sonstadt from 1872, who was able to prove a clearly measurable proportion of gold in seawater. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimates that there are approximately 20 million tonnes of gold in seawater. Extracting it would be enough to give nine pounds of gold to everyone on earth (however the gold in the ocean is so diluted that each liter of seawater contains an average of only about 13 billionths of a gram of gold – meaning that about 30 million pounds of seawater have to be processed in order to get one ounce of gold).
